Exchange & Refund Terms

Please read our terms of purchase thoroughly before making a purchase with Sydney Costume Shop.

In addition to the below terms, it is also the buyers responsibility to allow enough time for delivery of your order (see Delivery and Shipping).

Refunds - Online
We offer refunds on items that are faulty or damaged, or if a purchased item is out of stock. 

In the event an item is out of stock, buyers will be notified within 48 hours.

The following conditions apply on refunds:

  • Buyer must notify Sydney Costume Shop of any faults or issues within 48 hours of receiving item.
  • Item must be returned within 7 days of receiving item.
  • Item must be returned unworn, unused in original condition including all packing
  • Receipt / Proof of Purchase must be included with the return.
  • A 10% re-stocking fee plus a $10 processing fee will be charged.
  • Refunds will not be processed until the original item is received and assessed.
  • We have no control over Australia Post delivery systems so can never guarantee your order will arrive within the time frames. We therefore cannot refund you in the event a parcel is delayed, until the parcel is deemed as lost by Australia Post.

Full refunds including shipping costs are available for all goods with major faults/defects as per Australian Consumer Law.

    Refunds - In-store

    Purchases made in-store are non-refundable. We only offer exchange or credit for any purchases made in-store.

    Exchanges
    We offer exchanges for sizing and change of mind purchases on all full price items. However, we do not offer exchanges or refunds on sale items.
    We also do not offer refunds for change of mind purchases.

    The following conditions apply on exchanges:

    • Buyer must notify Sydney Costume Shop of the intention to exchange within 48 hours or receiving item.
    • Item must be returned within 7 days of receiving items.
    • Item must be returned unworn, unused in original condition including all packing
    • Receipt / Proof of Purchase must be included with the return
    • Exchanges will not be processed until the original item is received.
    • Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs associated with the return and exchange.

    Due to hygiene we do not offer refunds or exchanges (unless the item is faulty) on the following products:

    • Socks, Stockings, Leggings & Tights
    • Leotards
    • Undergarments (including lingerie, tutus, petticoats, etc.)
    • Eyelashes
    • Wigs
    • Hats & Headwear
    • Beards, Facial or any other similar product.

    How to Return An Item
    Please email us through our Contact Page or call us on 02 9548 3474.

    Once we have received your request we will email you to confirm the returns process. You will then be required to return the products via a traceable shipping method (for example, registered post). If you return an item without tracking and the item is lost, Sydney Costume Shop accepts no responsibility and we will be unable to provide a refund or exchange.

    Once we receive your item, we will assess and contact you to confirm details of the refund or exchange based on our assessment and on your original request.
